7th grade poem
7th grade was more like an obstacle rally
because I had to take and leave many issues behind me
One of these issues took my undivided attention
For my personality and style were insulted in a quick second
I mean my social studies teacher, Ms.Brown
She’s a nice person, so I don’t think she tried to put me down
Though she warned me of my dress code violation quite a few times
All I cared was a quarter, a nickel and two meanless dimes
I understand that she was just trying to do her job
The threat of a detention…enough to make me sob
A detention, I looked at it in every angle very clearly
Wouldn’t it destroy me, wouldn’t it show in my 7th grade report card yearly
For someone who has St. Thomas neatly planned in their future
The mysterious apparition of a detention couldn’t be any weirder
