Derailed

It was unexpected.
No one deserves it.
Especially him.

Just another typical college night is how it all started.
Partying, dancing, and drinking with nothing to worry about.
Expecting to wake up with the typical hangover and saying “What did I do last night?”
This time it was different.
He didn’t completely wake up to say those words.
He lay there grasping onto his life.
Trying to get his life back on track.
Day by day.
Minute by minute.
Everyone hoped for that wonderful smile to come to his face once again.
It lasted two weeks.
No smile came.
Hope poured in, hundreds came to visit and support.
Doctors in and out of the room with results that went up, down, and all around like a roller coaster.
Unfortunately that roller coaster ride came to an end.
Derailed.
He couldn’t hold on any longer.
A life was lost.

Death.
No one deserves it.
Especially him.
