Hawaiian Paradise

A glance out the window
Turns my good day bad.
The sky is a threatening gray
And rain consumes the city.
It pounds the streets
And soaks the locals.
With a thunderous cry,
It makes the skyscrapers shake.
My finger traces a palm tree
Onto the foggy window.
I can feel my mind drift away
To a land I well know.
Breathtaking sunsets
And sand between my toes.
Sun-kissed cheeks,
And frosty lemonade glasses.
Luaus and hula dancers,
Pineapples and Piña Coladas,
Oh, beautiful Hawaiian paradise-
Take me there.
