A Man to His Son
Your daddy is never late,
 But you still don’t appreciate
 Everything he’s done for you
 And all that’s true.
He doesn’t always do things right,
But he barely does things wrong.
He just knows deep down he doesn’t belong.
Though, he still sings his song
 And gives his love.
Praying up to the gods above
That one day his son could try
To look his own father in the eye.
To forgive for his choice to leave
And hoping his son could believe
The story in which he did speak.
Hoping he didn’t look too weak.
 But until that day
 The old man will pray
Knowing it will never come true,
But what is the old man to do.
If the son can’t ever understand
Then he truly isn’t ever a man.
