if today was yesterday and tomorrow isn't a dat
c
If today was yesterday
And tomorrow isn’t a day
Grass would still grow
And trees would still sway
Adults would work
And children would play
Peace would be present
If only for today
What to call a place like that
A place of fun and mystery like
Jack Sprat,
Songs and stories
Read for a time before bed
A day without fighting
And great frustration
Time to breathe and to think
Happiness to eat and joy to drink
If there was a place like that
There would be no pain,
Suffering crushed and burden slain
For all those who think life is but a game
Which makes death just a name,
But as it is so, a grief to say
This fact is fiction
And tomorrow is still a day
And today is mine to get away
Because I got lost yesterday
