You Were Never There

you say you're sorry that you've missed so much
but I just stand there and roll my eyes
you never tried
you were never there

I call you father for a reason
you don't deserve to be called dad or daddy
you cheated, liar
you were never there

you've hurt me emotionally
you didn't even wait 3 months!
you didn't give me time to heal
you were never there

I'm sick of looking at you
I'm sick of talking to you
and I hope you feel the same way too
you were never there

you don't care about me or my feelings you were a bad father and especially a bad husband you don't deserve my love or my respect
you were never there

If I had a penny for all the times
you've said "I really did try to come"
I would be the richest person in the world
you were never there

stop speaking stop making up excuses
I'm done
you've already caused me enough pain
you were never there

I have so many problems because of you
no one understands me or my problems
I feel like an outcast because
you were never there

one day when I get married and have kids
I pray my husband won't be like you
self-centered, rude, and lazy. I'm glad that
you were never there.
