If I Died Today

By , Brookfield, WI
Would you be sorry if I died today?
Just vanished from this world
Would you have things to say to me?
Things you wouldn't, couldn't say -
before it was too late -

Would you come to my funeral?
Watch my parents as they weep
Would you lay a rose on the ground?
A flower I wouldn't, couldn't hold -
over my grave, six feet under -

Would you wonder why I did it?
How you could have missed the signs
Would you blame yourself?
That you wouldn't, couldn't save me -
maybe your fault somehow -

Would you be sorry if I died today?
Or would you want to be dead like me?
