"I'm one of those regular weird people."
-Janis Joplin

"But, I don't think any arranger should ever write a drum part for a drummer because if a drummer can't create his own Interpretation of the chart and he plays everything that's written, he becomes mechanical; he has no freedom."
-Buddy Rich

Smile like there is no sorrow
Live like there is no tomorrow
And breathe until your dying day,
Don't let opportunity leave you astray.

Seconds of seconds of seconds go by
And yet we all sit here and wonder why
The time has gotten away from us, and
The world is still turning when we stop;
When we WANT to stop.
Nothing ceases.
Air flows continuously,
Gravity paperweights objects to the Earth,
To the soil being danced upon by rain,
To the roots of which each plant is connected,
To each vein of the human anatomy that is a network working for one organ:
The heart.
The core of the universe.

When the rain refrains,
When the heart comes to a halt,
What happens to the world?
What do we do?
There is nothing.
Nothing but prevention.
Put an end to the destruction.
Before it comes too close.
Before it goes too far.

Every part of nature is breathing oxygen,
Even ocean-dwelling beasts.
Just like you and I.
Respect that of which you depend on:
The great trees that stand tall and imperious before you.
The eminent branches that provide Life's necessity.
The carbon we exhale feeds the green children of nature,
(That were once so plentiful),
And then Mother gives back to us,oxygen, fair in exchange,
(Which was once in such surplus).

But now where do we go?
Now what do we inhale, and what do they exhale?
Pollution.Gases.Chemicals.Filth.
NOTHING.
We have become selfish burdens of the planet.
Trampling the only part of Earth that was real,
That was non-artificial,
Non-man-made,
Non-political,
Non-biased,
And free.And peaceful.
THE ONE PART THAT DID NOT CAUSE WAR.
And look what we have done to it.
Demolished it.
Replaced it with material life.
Life which depends on green colored paper in your wallet.
Paper that was at one point a part of a bold, magnificent being.
But is now just a thin, lifeless cut of ignorance.

The more ignorance you obtain during your life,
The more important you are,
The higher your status becomes.
You say you planted a tree.
Well, that makes no difference.
Stop Industrials from destroying thousands.
Giving one is a kind gesture, but saving acres is so much more.

Global warming is a false assumption.
Never assume.

If we were not so dependent on obtaining better things,
But more dependent on preserving our own habitat,
Peace would emerge from it's grave.
If the people are so concerned about the ozone being diminished,
Then why:
Are we not yet to stop our selfish acts
Are we still looking for an answer
Are we still to kill our own Mothers
Are we still to claim ourselves philanthropists when we are giving only money instead of direct help?

Living as a Hypocrite,
How does it feel?
(There is no denying that we all are.)

(Smile like there is no more sorrow.
And live because there might not be a tomorrow.
And breathe until your dying day.
Opportunity is already slipping away.)

I was just having one of those moments of intensely deep thought.I began to put the words together in my head and then started to type it all out. This poem just seemed to flow right through my fingertips. So,I just continued to type until my fingers stopped.
