I saw her lying there
My heart it would tear
To see this songbird, so sick, yet so fair.

My father he would kneel
The way that she would feel
She knows this is not to his appeal

My mother, she would cling
To the songbird’s favorite thing
In hope that, again, she could sing

And when this songbird sang once more
As she had sang once before
Feelings of love began to soar

And, of course, love for the Divine
Would, now, rightfully be mine
No longer needing a sign
