Not All Angels Have Wings

Not all angels have wings -
Their halos of innocence and beauty
are within them, causing them to shine
from the inside out.

Not all angels have wings -
they don't sit on high pedistols,
looking down from high places of
comfort and security saying,
"I know how it feels..."
They grow up with us.
They are us.

Not all angels have wings -
They fight the same battles and
win or lose in the same ways -
but they're the ones who can still
see the beauty of the world...
even if they, themselves, feel
lost and hopeless.
They teach us to be strong.
They show us what we, ourselves,
want to be.

Not all angels have wings -
They don't know they're angels.
They don't act on superiority;
they earn it, after years of living,
fighting, working, crying, and loving.
They do what they do
not expecting anything but love in return.

Not all angels have wings -
They don't always have faith,
say the right things,
do the right things, or
act the right way, for
...what is right?
...Thats for anyone to decide.

Not all angels have wings -
They carry themselves,
as everyone does,
but they take on the task of
carrying everyone else with them
on their way to heaven,
and never call it a burden.

Not all angels have wings -
look around - you'll probably see one.
Not all angels have wings -
and if you just be yourself
who knows?
you could be one.
