Kingston, a peaceful and joyous baby

Sent from an angel, given to one special lady

A close friend, practically family
So quick, so fast, his life ended sadly
Remembering the times when he ran around,
And the times his laugh was a pleasant sound
Slowly like a snake trapping its prey,
It took over his body and it was there to stay
Mournful and grieving, his parents ask to send for a blessing
Something unknown and unheard of can cause a heart breaking
Unbearable and something that we refuse to accept
Tears in our eyes, his death we will never forget
Life goes on, you will have to too
It is just something that we cannot undo.
He changed the world in his own little way
He taught the world that life is short and we all cannot stay
We move on with Kingston in our hearts
And we wait for a new beginning to start
His life filled with love, and happiness
Makes us joyous and at peace
Even though he was just three,
His soul is now set free

The author's comments:
This was a poem I wrote when Kingston passed away a couple years ago. I did not get the chance to submit this piece of work, even though I had wanted to. Kingston's mother and father were good friends with my parents, and when I heard of his passing it was devestating. I Felt so helpless for his famiy, and all I could feel was this sadness. I decided to write this elegy for myself and his family. I hope that other people see how short life can really be and how important it is.
