"For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

There are times when things get rough.
It seems impossible, life can be too tough.
Struggles may pile up along the way.
The world may appear dismal and grey.
People can push you and knock you down.
You think your only option is to give up and drown.
“How will things become better?”, you wonder
“What can end this lightning and thunder?”.
The rock you need is there for you.
Trust in Him, life will start anew.
This rock is your fortress and a guiding light.
Confide in Him and you will win the fight.
This rock is your refuge and your strength.
His unfailing love has no measured length.
If you need help this rock will be there.
Just go to Him and ask for it in prayer.
Though you may make mistakes or stumble,
With this rock you will not crumble.
This rock will never fail, split, or crack.
This rock will protect you against any attack.
This rock will keep you safe in times of woe.
This rock will teach you and help you grow.
This rock will love you like a father and friend.
And He will be with you to the very end.

This poem I wrote was for the North Texas Leadership Training for Christ 2010. I entered this poem in the poetry preconvention challenge event. It comes from II Samuel chapter 22, and it talks about how God is our Rock and our fortress in our lives.
