Today I became a Mother
Today was a day that will be like no other
For a few short hours, you experienced the love of being a Mother
Though his time here was short you held him in your arms
And determinedly protected him from all harm
Then the time came too soon that you had to let go
The pain that you suffered only you'll ever know
Joel Christopher, your son, will forever live on in your heart
For in him was revealed what is your better part
Find the blessings you gained from his short time with you
Honor his memory as only you'll be able to do
Pass the love that you felt to the ones that you love
And be thankful to have received this gift from God above.
