You're Like

You're like brief but blinding brilliance,
Like raindrops on the tar,
You're like things closest unquestioned like the nearness of a star,
You're like cold fronts to the sunshine,
Like the messengers of gray,
You're like living through a wormhole like the new from yesterday,
You're like steely strings and stairwells,
You're like standing on a knife,
You're like feather down and lamb fur,
You're like fragile infant life,
You're like childhood dependence,
You're like shouting through a door,
You're like waiting for the thunder,
I can't stand you anymore.
