Love/Hate vs. Truth/Lies

Pieces of my mask fall off my face.
The purest white I have ever seen
Falling rapidly off pale skin into ever lasting darkness
They are the lies
The lies that tasted so sweet at one point
The truth was so bitter I couldn't handle it
Now the tastes have been switched
The bittersweet in between world shattering because of little white lies
The truth surrounds me in a dark cage
Like how a tamer cages a lion I am trapped.
I look for the truth when all I can see is my broken mask
The white mask of lies
My eyes bleed tears of remote loneliness
Aching deep inside for a friend
Anyone to comfort me
I see creatures showing white teeth and warm hands
Untrusting I watch them
The dance about me laughing
Laughing on about how foolish I was
How I couldn't keep one friend happy
I shook vigorously as they mocked me
Control over my emotions was lost in the grey sea of truth and lies
Blank wall dressed in black and white surrounded me
I held on to fragments of my truth to stay sane
The laughing continued around me
It engulfed me into self pity on my actions and left me empty
Nothing and everything mattered to me now
The problem is my heart had shattered so at any moment I could be cut
To protect the things I treasured I fought off the pests
I closed off my heart and soul to anyone and all that was left was a box
It was an empty box except for a note
The note was black and white and had something written on it
"Love is to Hate as Hate is to Love. The Truth is to Lie when Lies hurt the Truth. Anyone can do it. The only thing holding you back is the Love and Trust in yourself. The Hatred and Lies are cast upon us as a test. Can you fight the urge or lose control. It is your choice and your choice alone."

the color scheme you evoke in your poem is excellent and is something i've never seen before! very original! i alos like how you end on a 'philosophical' note, and let the reader make his/her own mind up. great job! hope you'll stop by on my page :)
