Valentine
Valentine
To love we give a gift each year
And on this day we aim to please
To show our love with hearts and candies
To woo we buy expensive things
Gold hearts, pearl earrings, among other things
But is it not enough to say - I love you dear
Roses and hearts so frail indeed
Perhaps tis our eyes we seek to appease
 Lust after lust
As we try to buy joy
 But love is a thing
 We can ill afford
The weight in your heart is chained to your pocket
 But do what you will
 Chase after feeble desires
 I only mean to inspire
