Ode to Uncle Donny
Craziest man ever to live,
Riding tractors for fun,
Enjoying fast automotives.
Free-spirited man he was,
Swaying to records as they spun,
Enjoying acoustic guitar riffs.
Wanted nothing but to give,
If he could he’d give the sun,
Enjoying the love he receives.
He was dependent on that buzz,
Always needing alcohol in him to function; to run,
Sadly enjoying the temporary high.
He was self-conflictive,
Sometimes unknown he was a loved one,
Sadly enjoying the separation.
He rejoined the family as he always does,
Never getting an ounce of shun,
Sadly enjoying the easy life.
I miss him to death,
I wish he could come back,
I think of him every day,
In every way,
With every breath.
