American Dreamist
At the risk of being prohibited
They swore their lives uninhibited
A nymph by a spring,
No promise no ring
Just basking in a hot sun, naked and sinful
The nymph danced so whimsical
The pursuit of love in the form of physical
Dazzled by materialism,
Their fate changed
They abandoned their surrealism
And their cars began to drive them
Their clothes began to wear them
Their jobs worked them
They became outstanding citizens
Forget that, never grow old
Youth wasn’t wasted on the young
