How could I do it?
How could it work?
With everyone noticing
Every quirk?

With one of them here,
The others long gone,
How can I do it?
Did I do something wrong?

Why did they leave?
Was it something said?
It runs through my mind,
Even in bed.

No matter what I do,
It’s never enough.
Who knew life
Could be so tough!

I cried and cried
Until I ran out of tears.
I’ll remember that day
For all of my years.

The author's comments:
I wrote this after being ditched by every friend except one. The majority of those people are still ignoring me. I asked myself over and over how I would deal with it. Well, I did, thanks to the one friend who stayed. That friend always has been and always will be my best friend.
