Broken Memories
You held me closer and down my back I felt your fingertips,
You pulled me towards you and I felt our brushing lips,
You looked at me as if you held the world in your hands,
And your promises of forever were your only demands.
You held me at a distance and looked into my eyes,
You pushed me away as you spun your web of lies,
You looked through me as you were thinking of her,
You told me you and I, us, we never really were.
But all I remember was our brushing lips and fingertips.
