Because of you, I feel rage
My heart is locked up
Like a dog in a cage.
Because of you mommy
It's hard to smile,
Where is you love
For that one lost child?
Because of you mommy
I can't sleep at night,
I toss and I turn,
I fight and I fight.
Because of you mommy
I have built up my walls,
Oh so big; never too small.
Because of you mommy
I feel so hurt,
You threw me away
Like a worn out shirt.
You ask me to forgive you,
I can't say I do
This is how I feel,
All "Because of you."

The author's comments:
This poem "Because of You" came from the way I once felt about my biological mom. When I was born I was adopted. I felt so much hurt and pain from it that I felt the need to blame her. Everything that I ever went through in life I blamed her for, I felt like a child that wasnt loved, that seemed to be so lost without a clue in the world. I grew up thinking it was her fault because she gave me up for the drugs, alcohol, the money, and the men.
