You and Me
I speak
No one hears
She repeats
Everyone cheers
Every time I talk
You seem bored
But when she talks
You always adore
I want to be noticed
And I want to be me
Though it’s as if I am invisible
For no one to see
You say I sit back
And watch everyone
But when I begin to talk
You wonder when I’ll be done
You said that all things
Are not meant to scale
But when I mess up
You almost laugh when I fail
You see, you are you and I am me
I may not throw myself out there for all to see
But clearly you have perceived me wrong
For you are you and I am me
