Golden-haired God

Hey, you, golden-haired god.
Why ya puttin’ on such a sad facade?
Walkin’ around like there’s bad comin’ your way.
Takin’ two steps back while you’re keepin’ me at bay.
Runnin’ fast from the feelings I know ya feel.
Thinkin’ ya need time to let those bruises heal.
Ya takin’ me for a ride I never wanted to take?
Puttin’ this lil’ girl through her first heartbreak.
I know ya wanna place the blame at my feet.
Warnin’ you to think twice before completing that feat.
It’s time you face the facts and let reality hit.
You can’t always sabotage the pieces that fit.
Cryin’ won’t do ya good.
Whinin’ won’t do ya good.
Stop actin like a child would.
Step up like a man should.
