Add Some Every Day
Why do you have to do this?
You’re just asking to get hurt.
You demand you’re respected,
Then you treat yourself like dirt.
Is it hard to understand
This is what you’re asking for?
When you’re told to shut your mouth,
You insist on yelling more.
I wish that I could stop you
From continuing to shout,
But, no, you’d never listen
Or take the easier route.
I would take away your hurt,
And I’d take away your pain,
Because when all’s said and done,
Added weight will be the same.
If only you would let me,
I’d take the burden away.
You’d put it on my shoulders,
Just adding more the next day.
