Christmas truly is the best time of the year,
People are happy, filled with holiday cheer,

The Nutcracker Ballet is filled with a crowd,
While Clara dances without speaking out loud,

Carolers sing going door to door,
Singing the songs that people adore,

Scents of candy canes and cocoa fill the air,
Toy stores become extremely bare,

When it is dark, the houses sparkle with lights,
Sending a glow into the black starry night,

The day before Christmas, children hang up their stockings,
Hoping that Santa Clause will visit them knocking,

Toys, books, and food galore,
All the things that Christmas has in store,

It’s not all about the presents though or the amount,
It’s about being with family, that’s what really counts.
