Ah, I took one step forward into the wind

Yet I haven't moved from that spot since

My valuable eyes can view

My valuable mind can't comprehend

What is mine

Ah, the wind which surrounds me now

blows like sarcasm

At a minute past midnight

Whipping through the corners of my soul

The wind finds the hole

In my gut

It finds it fast - in the darkness

The chasm in my soul

Ah, this is mine!

The ocean is mine,

And the islands are mine,

The wind whipping ruthlessly Around my ears

And its howling song is mine,

The books and the words

And the lofty ideas are mine,

The music and laughter

And the dancing of the spirits are mine,

The vastness of the earth,

And the variations of its people are mine,

These shall be counted among my possessions

All of the earth

All in my mind.

Ah, my mind shall overrule all!

That which is worldly,

That which is truthful,

That which is wrongful and that which is not.

A responsibility I cannot endure

The Time

The Strength

The Passion

are mine yet are expansive and cruel

Until I feel the warm hand caress my own
