If you've never played football
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the crowd,
You can’t know the crowd.
If your game is at home, the crowd cheers for you.
If your game is away, you can hear them boo.
Screaming and roaring like ferocious bears,
It doesn’t matter if the game is fair.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the crowd.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the weather,
You’ve never known the weather.
The immense heat of the golden sun,
Slowly frying us, you’ve got nowhere to run.
Not just the sun, there is also the rain.
Slipping everywhere can drive you insane!
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the weather.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the tension,
You can’t know the tension.
Both teams worked too hard to just quit now,
And to beat the opponents, both teams know how.
Silent hatred between the two teams,
Just to win, they’ll push to the extreme.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the tension.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the coaches,
You can’t know the coaches.
Exploding like a stick of dynamite,
Don’t argue back because “the coach is always right.”
Nitpicking at every move you make,
Even the coaches can give you a headache.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the coaches.
So you’ve never played football,
And yet you know pain,
You think you know pain?
Helmets colliding at 22 miles per hour.
On the field or not, you can feel the power.
Bruises and cuts all over your body,
Got a lot of players crying for their mommy.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know pain.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know sweat,
You can’t know sweat.
Stinging our eyes as it comes inside,
Hiding the pain, to show our pride.
When the game is over, we are drenched in sweat,
With all the hard work, we have no regrets.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know sweat.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the feeling of victory,
You can’t know the feeling of victory.
The feeling of victory is like no other,
Crying tears of joy, one after another
We all sing and dance like little boys,
Doing everything in our power to make noise.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know the feeling of victory.
Still you’ve never played football,
And yet you know respect,
You say you know respect?
At the start of the game, we hate the other team,
Trying so hard to go and break their spleens.
Our minds are set to seek and destroy,
Crush everyone in our paths including the water boy.
When the game ends, we shake their hands,
We tell them "Good game," and each act like a man.
They give us a nod, we nod back,
Respect for one another, we got that.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know respect,
You’ve never known respect.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know me,
You just can’t know ME.
You see,
My arms have bruises,
My legs have cuts,
My lips are chapped
My eyes swollen shut.
My head is aching,
My back is soar.
My body can’t take it,
But my heart wants more.
If you’ve never played football,
You don’t know me.
You’ll never know me.
