Grief
Why is grief such a terrible thing?
Full of confusion and over-trying
For we try to hide those feelings inside
When we should go along for the ride
At first you are sad and don't want it to show
So you clam up and stop the emotional flow
Thinking you're strong when you are really so weak
Just wait 'til these emotions reach their peak
Then you deny anything will change
And think your life won't, re-arrange
Because in your mind your friend is still here
Wait 'til that reality disappears
Then when you go to find him around
But when you call out there is not a sound
And you are subject to a fit or rage
But you bottle it up in that soon-to-break cage
A few days later you hear a song
That reminds you of the times you've had all along
Those emotions come breaking through
Just like a huge river to overrun you
But still you try to hold it in
So no one will hear you not even your kin
And you still wishing your friend was still around
Can hear the soft pitter-patter of tears hitting the ground
There's no holding it back now the tears are coming through
The emotions are to strong and there is nothing you can do
Once you can stop and begin to unwind
You realize that the whole time you were being so blind
