True Love's Kiss
The beauty’s eyes of crystal blue,
Longing for her love so true.
Hair of black and lips of red,
A prince it is her dream to wed.
Delicate snow her skin so white,
But she is in danger’s sight.
“Who is the fairest in the land?”
The queen asks, mirror in hand.
The mirror answers what she did not know,
“The one who’s skin is white as snow.”
This girl’s life the queen must take,
Because there is so much at stake.
For if a prince the girl shall marry,
A crown on her head she will soon carry.
A red apple the queen does disguise,
Delicious to thy human eyes.
The beauty is unfairly tricked.
From her body her life is picked.
Lifeless as a flightless dove,
But all it takes is one’s true love.
With a single kiss will she awaken,
For true love is not mistaken.
