You can see the fire inside her,
what you can’t see is that she’s cold.
The lies of her people
and the sugarcoated world
were getting old.
Drowning even when you’re on land
, crying even while you sleep.
Jumping into cold water,
and struggling because it’s too deep.
She learned a long time ago
that
Pushing away everyone that’s loved you.
And never having regrets.
Burning old photographs.
And never thinking about the ‘what ifs.’
It will make you
strong.
