I'll Still Sing For You

I don't belong
in the lyrics of your song.
And no matter how hard I try,
I can't seem to fry
what's left of this meal
that tasted so real.
Made of plastic noodles
and my harmless doodles
next to your name,
my loveless shame.

But I'll still sing
and hope it brings
your love like a flood
to wash away this blood.
I won't shed a tear,
I wish you were here.

I check the time
only to find
the hands on the clock
are holding a glock
straight to my head
screaming- "You'd be better off dead!"
So I run away only to discover,
that I need this time to recover.
The hands on the clock hold me behind locked doors,
oh how I wish those hands were yours.

But I'll still sing
and hope it brings
your love like a flood
to wash away this blood.
I won't shed a tear,
I wish you were here.

I'm just a dog chasing cars,
because I know you're still locked behind bars.
Yet still I run because I can't cope,
and catching cars is my only hope.
And even if they let me in,
my sun-lit life would still be dim.
Irreplaceable light, please shine.
I need you here, love of mine.

But I'll still sing
and hope it brings
your love like a flood
to rinse away this blood
I won't shed a tear
and I won't show my fear,
Just to be clear,
I still need you here.

I wrote this about my boyfriend who's locked up in Jail. I miss him a lot.
