Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson

Brown eyes are all I can see.
When you walk through the halls you look my way,
And yet you do not see me.
This happens to me every single day.
I try to keep my distance,
but something pushes me toward you.
In your walk you have such persistence,
My feelings are nothing but true.
Nothing is pressuring me to love,
You make is so natural and fun.
When we are together it fits like a glove,
I see you and I feel the warmth of the sun.
Brown eyes are all I can see,
And yet you do not see me.

I was inspired to write this poem when I found that my feelings for one of my guy friends began to be more than just friendship feelings.
