This terrible ache,
seems to consume me
i try to write away the pain
but the right words evade me
My pen's out of ink
and the piano keys bloody.
My fingers are raw
from trying
and trying
and trying.
But the clock ticks on,
and the rain pours down
i just stare out my window,
dreaming.
The melody in my head
swirls round and round
like star-crossed lovers
dancing in circles
but lately the tune has grown maddening
your voice
your smile
your laugh
i've been driven far past insanity
But i can live with this uncertainty
cause in your arms,
I'll write for eternity
I whisper softly,
for my heart's been torn in two you see,
my only request from you,
Is to remember what you promised me...

My inspiration came from listening to my favorite lullaby. The River Flows in You by Yiruma
