Late at night, the entire world at peace.

Yet I am wide awake with no peace inside, because of you

The music is low, the room dark.

The only light burns from a candle, lit in memory of you

It, like my love for you, will burn forever strong.

My life has gone on to include everyone, but you

Have drifted from my life, your decision,

not mine.

Times are fast, but drag on indefinitely.

The exhaustion, physical and emotional,

only remind me

Of the strength once given by you,

now forever lost.

The infrequent, but everlasting, times of solitude.

The music and me.

The only company is the fire, that burns

In my heart, Where I am allowed

only memories of you

Memories that haunt and remind me

Of what I can no longer have

Your love, made me strong a strength

I carried into all I did.

A love I would have always returned

With open ease yet intense meaning.

And still you think this is how it must be

You and then the fire and me.

Very well sculpted, did not over exagerate at all. Simplicity is key. You took a very intense topic and hit all the points without rambling on. You did a beautiful job and chose your words carefully; the entire passage flowed. Every word connected with the sentence and thus the entire piece meshed very well. GREAT WORK...looking forward to your next piece.

I really love this! It reminds me so much of...well, something i know is happening right now with one of my friends and something I'm afraid is going to happen with me. It's something I would write about- but never would have wrote it this way... I love your style!!! And the way it's all fit in.. an amazing picture.

It's funny how one can easily have to rely on their last line to deliver an impact. That happens to me a lot, and this poem almost does that. Still, although it is yet another poem focusing too much on regret of a deprivation of love, I am well impacted and impressed. Good job. Not one of those universally speaking poems, but its good.

This poem is amazing. I sometimes feel the same way. Losing is hard. But losing what you never had and wished for is harder.
