Trying to keep up with the gang,

but failing each time,

he wanders away feeling sad.

Looking for something to do

he finds an older boy nearby,

silently listening.

They play and play

happy in each other's company

until ...

His little gang returns

and says, "Can we play, too?"

He lets them

because he knows how it feels

to be out on your own.

I see how you feel when you strive to keep up with others but your plan fails and that you find someone that might take the place of ones shoes but only then others tag along because he knows that they do not want to out on their own
