Now is the Time

November 10, 2009
When the years are gone
You’re moving on
You’ve got more life to live
When summers fade
In comes the shade
There’s no more hope to give
When life has changed
Or rearranged
Like spring and then December
When the race is done
You end your run
What would you like to remember?
Was it all you hoped for?
Was there more
You hoped you would fulfill
Were there things you did?
Memories you’d rid
From your mind you can’t conceal
Has one thing in this world
Small or unfurled
Breathed easier because of just you
Has a person with heart
From the very start
Been touched by what you can do
When times were hard
Did you stop to guard?
The things most precious in life
Did you stand up and fight
For what you thought was right
Did you hold strong through all the strife
When you look at a day
Did you waste it away
For temporal pleasures or sorrow
Were you lost in the thought
That today you might not
So it can wait till tomorrow
Well now is the time
To stand up and shine
And show who you really are
The time to take
A needed break
So you can strive to go far
You’ll want to remind
Yourself you were kind
So all who are reading take heed
When your laughs have made wrinkles
You’re covered in crinkles
Good memories are all that you need
