rest in peace and wait for me up there
Time has already began to pass,
I seemed to have lost you so fast.
Never expecting you to depart,
It so very saddened my heart.
I know you guard me from above,
But I miss your presence and your love.
If only I could see you once more,
And tell you all that I need you here for.
I remember your suspenders, jeans, and flannel shirts.
If only someone had been with you to make the situation avert.
You are well remembered and very missed,
Seeing you is often wished.
I would still do you any favor,
Your memory is what I try to savor.
I love you, I really do,
And of course I miss you too!
Will you recognize me when I meet you up there?
Will there still be love between us to share?
I hope you are proud of me still,
Your love, I’ve not had my fill.
Someday, maybe soon, maybe far,
I hope to see you where you are.
And when I do,
Please love me too.
