   As shattered dreams lie

amidst the fallen hope

like shards of glass

that resemble my broken heart

I see your cold, stony stare

and the rain pouring down around me

it gently washes away the pieces

of my own soul.

My body is just a shell

covering the emptiness

the loneliness has engulfed me

and taken me over.

For I am no more ...

without heart,

without soul

Nothing remains.
