Boomerang Magazine

By

   A beautifully-shaped wing of wood

It was, no more.

But with that graceful wing I could

Zoom, bank, and soar

Into the great sapphire depths of sky

Where no bird wheels or dives.

The way that plane of wood would fly

Made me happy to be alive.

Over sandy beach and windswept dune

I flew with that boomerang.

Across the green fields, up to the crescent moon

We'd race, glide, hang.

That boomerang was a faithful friend

Never leaving for very long.

Together we saw the lightening rend

The sky, heard thunder's song.

Then we'd fly home across the hills,

The wasteland and heather,

Thinking of all the sights and thrills

That we had seen together.
