Pinocchios
By Anna F., Swampscott, MA
Stretched out warm on the lawn
That verdant carpet velvety smooth and soft,
Golden sunlight streaming down
Like butter dripping in glistening droplets off an ear of corn-on-the-cob.
A breeze, sharp with sea salt,
Slices through my leafy sunshade,
And little green paratroopers, whirling,
Rain down on me.
