Ode To A Toad This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

By

I was out one day for my usual jog,

(I go kinda easy, rarely full-hog)

When I happened to see, right there on the road

The squishy remains of a little green toad.

I thought to myself, where is his home?

Down yonder green valley, how far did he roam?

From out on the pond I heard sorrowful croaks,

Could that be the wailing of some of his folks?

I felt for the toad and his pitiful state,

But the day was now fading, and such was his fate.

In the grand scheme of things, now I confess,

What's one little froggie, more or less?

I like the old fashioned style of writing. Cute poem. Food for thought.

I saw this in my middle school textbook. Did you happen to plagarize or did your work get featured in the textbook?

I'm not the writer of this poem, but I can tell you that it wasn't plagerized because if it was it wouldn't be allowed on the website.

I find myself asking the same questions too. Like where did it come from? I like this poetry and I like its flow. I can relate to this.

Hi, that wwas pretty much THE MOST EPIC poem I have ever read, I read it because I love toads, (hate frogs, love toads) and I was excited that someone was writing about them, I can not believe that you killed him off, I was really kinda sad.

This was really good, funny and the rhyming really flowed. I loved the whole story and it just all went very well together. I think this would go perfect in a childrens book of poems (I used to have a great big book called Animal poems for kids and this would be fantastic in it) Great job!

Way to be quirky. I like this, your poem kinda reminds me of Shel Silverstein poetry. Who I love. I hope you do make children's poetry or something.

Check out my work?
