   What is life?

Oh! What is life?

LIFE IS a stream

Flowing through the land,

Sometimes violently crashing

Against rocks so rough and stiff,

But often calmly rolling

As a waterfall over a cliff.

LIFE IS a present

Appealing to the eyes

And gingerly opened

Revealing a surprise.

LIFE IS a circle,

No beginning, no end.

A continuous cycle

Of meaningful events.

LIFE IS a chess game.

Each move decisively matched.

The players waiting,

Set to attack in a flash.

LIFE IS a detour.

Just when you think

You're on a straight path,

You hit an obstacle

And must take a new track.

LIFE IS an education,

Fun, exciting, new,

Yet difficult, laborious, too.

LIFE is finally a rainbow,

Iris' colorful joy

Shimmering after a rain.

A spectrum of radiant colors

To brighten any day.

That is Life.

Oh! That is life.
