i am trapped

looking out the window

i see cement

where is the sky?

a victim of civilization

i can only dream

of how it was

the sun turns the sea

into a dazzling shower

of sparks

dolphins splinter the light

with a splash

when they resurface

the sea is gray

coated with oil and

filled with sludge

they share their home with beer cans

and invisible tuna nets

that hungrily claim their victims

dolphins breathe the air

our air

but do we really breathe?

or just close our eyes

turn away

and inhale thick

black

smoke

from Brazil

where is the sky?
