By Elif A., Arlington, MA

   A tear blurred her vision

As it ran down her cheek.

Everything looked grey

As well as bleak.

She allowed herself

To slouch.

And not to stand straight.

As if on her back

There was a tremendous weight.

She shuffled as she walked

With her head looking down.

She never looked up

And she wore a frown.

Maybe tomorrow

She will feel a bit better.

But since yesterday

She looked a lot

Sadder.
