Somewhere, Over A Rainbow
By Adina G., Brookline, MA
Somewhere, over a rainbow,
In a land far away,
Lies a world
Where poverty is talked about in ancient history class,
And there is complete world peace.
The crime rate is below zero,
Locks are hard to find,
No one uses them.
Drugs are nowhere to be seen or heard,
The AIDS epidemic is wiped out.
Somewhere, over a rainbow,
In a land far away,
Lies a world
Where beauty is mind and soul,
And thousands of trees are planted every year,
The sky is blue, not grey.
Life is valued,
Gangs read together,
They don't fight together.
Somewhere, over a rainbow,
Is a land that is perfect,
But down here on earth,
We still have a long way to go.
I really enjoyed reading this. I thought by the title that it would be a played out theme, but yours wasn't and I never saw it coming. It speaks a beautiful truth and the last line is strong. Also, I like that you spelled grey with an e. I do that to and everyone tells me it should be with an a, but there are two ways...
