See how the shades of scarlet sea

Are wrapped in violet-blue?

And how the half-set sun sits on waves

Patiently waiting its cue?

Then away it goes, sliding, gone,

In a last bursting glow of peach.

And now I step back to look at the canvas -

The painted-over-sunset beach.
