By Stephen D., Needham, MA

   Winter is by:

There's much more to tell,

Though those three words

Sum it up well.

Winter is by:

The snow has gone.

The monotone of sky and ground,

Gray-white, is now the green of lawn

And pale blue of sky. Winter is by.

The world sings, not only for warm sunlight

And green grass, but also

Because the world is free of winter's endless gray-white
