Listen not to their words but what they mean
Watch the gleam in their eyes and know what you've seen
Be there for them, hold them close and stay near
Hold onto them tightly, listen hard and hear
Be there for them when they laugh, when they grieve
Let them know you care so much, make them believe
Listen hard with your heart, not with your ears
And if you truly care, you will be the one ... who hears
