Somewhere in the future I believe,

That there will come a perfect time and place,

For the gates of silence to open,

And soon thereafter, the gates of love.

Until then, it's a hard cross to bear,

To find the object of my dreams,

Sitting across from me, so close,

But so far from my possession.

Maybe that day will never come,

Perhaps I am but a fool, bound by

Invisible chains which hold me fast,

Or maybe, waiting for that perfect moment, I've missed my chance.

Still I believe that one day the time will come

That reality will come to equal my dreams,

And we shall present ourselves to the world as lovers,

And anticipation serves to make the prize sweeter.
