It is quiet,
cheepeep, cheepeep
I cannot sleep.
cheepeep, cheepeep
It is hot
cheepeep, cheepeep
The night is dark
cheepeep, cheepeep
I wish the crickets
cheepeep, cheepeep
would hush up.
cheepeep, cheepeep
until they do,
cheepeep, cheepeep
I will not sleep.
cheepeep, cheepeep
